Who is Jennifer Jackson?

Jennifer Jackson is a Florida native, born late October 1980 in Fort Lauderdale, where she still resides. She is self taught and approaches photography with a minimalistic philosophy and seldom uses any type of artificial light.

Photography has been her passion since early childhood. Photographing her friends and the world around her, she developed the desire to preserve those moments forever and pursue photography for enjoyment. Landscape, Life (Journalism), and Music are most often seen in her work, but she enjoys all subjects. Jennifer uses both film, and digital; professional and plastic cameras in her endeavors.

Watching her neighborhood change dramatically each year is what motivates her to continue traveling, and documenting the world today as witness for future generations. She feels that photographs allow us to see people and places that are long gone; it proves their existence. Also, that photographs can take you to places you have never been and help you go back when not possible. She lives by her motto A picture may be worth a thousand words, but the memory is priceless.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys traveling and creating art in many mediums. After all, its what keeps her going. She continuously seeks new places, faces, and experiences to learn from, enjoy, and capture with her camera.

Jennifer has won superior prizes throughout the state of Florida. Her photographs can be found in several print and online publications, and have been included in national photography exhibitions, as well as various stock collections including National Geographic. Jennifer is currently working on her first photography book installment "Breakdown" which she hopes to publish by the end of 2011.

"Breakdown is a briilliant collection of both color and black & white images shot in our beautiful National Parks throughout the country. This exhibition of 18 vivid photographs will be on display at the Tamarac Community Center in Tamarac Florida for the entire month of August.

A collection of 18 black and white photgraphs taken from the east coast to the west coast and back. This exhibition features journalistic shots from Las Vegas, Miami, Tampa, Monterey, Key West, Ryholite, and more. "From Here to Home" will run 2 months at the Broward County North Regional Library (Broward College North Campus) in Coconut Creek, Florida.
